Baltimore Washington Eye Center is a full service eyecare center delivering medical, surgical, optical as well as routine eyecare to patients throughout the greater Baltimore. We offer routine eye examinations for eyeglasses and contact lenses as well as the prescription, fitting and supply of contacts and glasses. Our eye physicians and optometrists are specialists in the treatment of dry eyes in Baltimore.

Our eye physicians and optometrists provide medical diagnosis of adult, adolescent and pediatric eye conditions and their treatment. Our staff will accommodate patients needing evaluation for eye injuries or eye emergencies on short notice and even after hours by phoning so that the answering service can reach the doctor on call.

Baltimore Washington Eye Center has a conveniently located, on-site, fully-equipped ambulatory surgery center. The surgery center allows patients and eye surgeons to have a comfortable and efficient eye surgery experience since we are able to provide complete eye care in one location. The Baltimore Washington Eye Center Surgery Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and certified by Medicare.

Our surgery center has been specially designed to accommodate all of the surgical procedures our surgeons perform:

Cataract Extraction and Intraocular Lens Implantation: Our cataract surgeons use the most advances techniques of small incision phacoemulsification and local anesthesia to provide you with a quick recovery and in most cases allowing you to resume normal daily activities with a couple of days. In addition, our patient have the option of having ReSTOR® or ReZoom™ Multifocal Lens Implants which give cataract patients the ability to see at a distance as well as up close, without bifocals or reading glasses.
Corneal Transplantation Surgery: Our fellowship trained cornea specialist has had advanced training and experience in the treatment of corneal diseases and in performing cornea transplants.
Eyelid Surgery: Our ocular plastic surgeon is specially trained to treat the eye and surrounding tissue, making him uniquely qualified to perform eyelid surgery.
Laser Surgery for Eye Diseases: The Baltimore Washington Eye Center is equipped with both the Argon Laser for treating glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease and the YAG Laser for use in cutting secondary membranes after cataract surgery.
Laser Eye Surgery: We offer excimer laser surgery for common vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Drs. Betancourt and Spagnolo perform LASIK Eye Surgery and other specialized procedures for patients seeking LASIK in Baltimore.
